Woodmancote Agricultural Contractors (WAC) (est.1974) is based near Emsworth on the West Sussex/Hampshire border. With nearly 50 years experience, the business provides an extensive range of agricultural services including complete and part farm contracts.

Steve Smith started Woodmancote Agricultural Contractors (WAC) nearly 50 years ago to provide an extensive range of agricultural services now including complete and part farm contracts.  Steve’s son, Nick Smith, has joined the business and is in charge of the day to day running and organisation of up to 15 skilled operators.  Based near Emsworth on the West Sussex/Hampshire border, they offer services from forage harvesting to combining, from hedge trimming to compost spreading and from drilling to baling.

They have recently expanded operations to include wood chipping and wood fuel supply services to meet the increasing demand for the biomass heating industry.  They have invested in specialist machinery including the mighty Mus-Max WT12 woodchipper, which has an amazing feed opening of 900 mm x 1300 mm and which is driven by a reverse drive Fendt 1050 tractor (500 hp).  It is fed with a 10 m reach crane operated from the tractor cab.  The machine has a very high output: up to 80 m³ of cord wood per hour.

Partnerships with landowners is an increasingly important part of their business.  They have formed various share farming agreements over the past 15 years giving farmers a guaranteed return on investment.

WAC is now offering forestry harvesting and extraction, a new addition to its ever increasing portfolio of services on offer.

If you just need a JCB digger or a specialised tractor for a day or a week, some of our agricultural plant is available on a self drive basis.

With so much farm and forestry machinery available and an extensive list of contracting services, not all of WAC’s plant hire and services are shown on this web site. Please do not hesitate to contact Steve or Nick to discuss your farming and forestry requirements
